Crispy Fried Chicken

Crispy Fried Chicken is a Cantonese dish popular in southern China and Hong Kong. Today its popularity has spread around the world and is the favorite dish for many people.

 The specialty of this dish is that the chicken is fried in such a way that while it is crispy and crunchy on the outside, the inside part remains soft and juicy. This amazing combination of a soft and crunchy texture not forgetting how amazing it tastes has made this dish so popular around the world. This dish makes a staple dish for quick dinner.


A simple 12 serving of delicious crispy fried chicken will only take around 30 minutes in the kitchen. With a 15-minute preparation time and 15-minute cooking time this delicious dish is not only quick but has a very easy-to-follow recipe.


The ingredients for this dish are simple, and easy to find.

i)All-purpose flour4 cups
ii)Garlic salt2 tablespoons
iii)Paprika1 tablespoon
iv)Pepper2 tablespoons
v)Salt1 teaspoon
vi)Poultry seasoning2-1/2 teaspoons
vii)Eggs2 large ones (3 small)
viii)Water1-1/2 cups
ix)Chicken7-8 pounds
x)Vegetable oil for deep fryingAs per requirement


Step 1.
Combine 2-2/3 cups flour, 2 tablespoons garlic salt, 1 tablespoon paprika, 2-1/2 teaspoons pepper and 2-1/2 teaspoons poultry seasoning in a large shallow dish and mix well.

Step 2.
In another shallow dish, add 1-1/2 cups water and beat the eggs in the same bowl. Add 1 tablespoon salt and the remaining 1-1/3 cup flour as well as ½ teaspoon pepper. Mix this mixture well.

Step 3.
Cut the chicken into medium size pieces. You can skin them if you prefer.

Step 4.
Dip chicken in egg mixture, roll them over until it is well covered with the egg mixture. Place the egg-dipped chicken in the flour mixture and turn it over until it is well coated on all sides.

Step 5.
Heat the oil on a deep-fryer to 375°.
Take several pieces of chicken at a time and fry them in the oil for about 7-8 minutes until they turn golden brown.
After the chicken has turned into a crispy golden-brown color, take them out and drain the oil on paper towels. And voila! Your crispy fried chicken is ready to be served.
You can serve this with simple tomato sauce/ketchup or any dipping sauce of your choice.


  1. It is best to use any oil having high smoke points like vegetable oil or canola oil for deep frying.
  2. If you want to make your chicken extra juicy in the inside, you can brine the chicken in some buttermilk beforehand. This will make the chicken softer and juicier.
