Choco Flan


Choco flan makes the perfect dessert for people of all ages. This delicious dessert allows you to enjoy the goodness of a cake and flan in a single bite. Combining two distinctive flavours in one crowd-pleasing recipe, you will find simple steps on how to make a Chocoflan.

PREPARATION TIME
This recipe will only require 20 minutes of preparation time, an hour of inactive time and 1 hour of cooking time. The recipe below will yield you a serving for 10. You can always adjust the quantity of the ingredients as per need.

INGREDIENTS

The ingredients for this recipe are quite easy and simple. However, you will need a 12-cup capacity Bundt pan

DIRECTIONS

Step 1.
Place an oven rack in the middle of the oven and preheat to 350 degrees F.

Step 2.
Coat the Bundt pan with a little butter. After this, coat the bottom with 1/4 cup Cajetan and place it in a large roasting pan. The roasting pan will be used as a water bath while baking

Step 3
Now, starting with the cake, add the butter and sugar in a bowl and using an electric hand mixer or stand mixer, beat until the mixture becomes light and fluffy. Add in the eggs and beat together.

Step 4.
Sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda and cocoa in a medium bowl. Beat 1/3 of the flour mixture, and 1/2 of the buttermilk into the egg combination.
Continue to add in the flour and mix well.

Step 5.
For the flan, firstly combine the evaporated milk, condensed milk, cream cheese, eggs and vanilla In a blender. Blend this mixture on high for about 30 seconds.

Step 6.
Pour the cake batter into the coated Bundt pan and spread it evenly. Then. Slowly pour over the flan mixture over the cake batter. Cover the pan with foil and add about 1-inch of hot water to the roasting pan.

Step 7
place the pan inside the oven and bake for an hour until the surface of the cake is firm to the touch. You can also insert a toothpick and see if it comes out clean.

Step 8.
After the cake is done remove it from the water bath and cool it completely to room temperature, about 1 hour.

Step 9
Place an inverted rimmed serving platter over the Bundt pan. Jiggle it a little and quickly flip over. Remove the pan and pour the remaining Cajetan sauce over the cake.
Finally, garnish it with chopped pecans.
Your delicious Chocoflan is ready to serve.

Invert a large, rimmed serving platter over the Bundt pan, grasp tightly together, jiggle a little and flip over. Remove the pan and scrape any remaining Cajetan sauce from the pan onto the cake, garnish with chopped pecans and serve!
