Homemade Deviled Egg Recipe

Deviled eggs are a classic holiday appetizer, but don’t let that limit you to making them any time the mood strikes. This delicious snack can be made quickly and easily anytime

Servings: 6 (12 halves)
Ingredients
- 6 large eggs
- 3 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tsp white vinegar or lemon juice
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Paprika, for garnish
- Optional: chopped chives or dill for garnish
Instructions
- Boil eggs: Place eggs in a single layer in a saucepan and cover with cold water. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Once boiling, cover the pot and remove from heat. Let sit for 10-12 minutes.
- Cool and peel: Drain hot water and place eggs in ice water or cold water to cool for 5 minutes. Peel eggs carefully.
- Prepare filling: Slice eggs in half lengthwise and remove yolks into a bowl. Mash yolks with a fork.
- Mix filling: Add mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, vinegar (or lemon juice), salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth and creamy.
- Fill eggs: Spoon or pipe the yolk mixture back into the egg whites.
- Garnish: Sprinkle with paprika and chopped herbs if using.
- Serve: Chill for at least 15 minutes before serving.
