Italian Meatball buns

Italian meatball rolls are one of the most popular delicacies enjoys by people of all ages. These are soft little rolls wrapped around a savory filling of Italian meatballs.
These are super easy to prepare. Simple and quick to put together, Italian meatball buns do not require a whole lot of different ingredients and can be easily made with limited kitchen tools.
These easy at-home-prepared soft rolls are amazing when dipped in marinara sauce. Assembling popular Italian taste, these will have your guests, children and family reaching out for more!
These would be great as appetizers for a party tray, or simply as snacks or an amuse bouche.

PREPARATION TIME

This simple recipe will take you no more than 45 minutes. With 30 minutes for preparation and around 15 minutes for baking time, your meatball buns will be ready in no time!
This recipe is for 24 meatball buns.


INGREDIENTS

The ingredients required to make a classic Italian meatball rolls are very simple and easy to find. You can find all these with ease at your nearest grocery store.
Following are what you need to have on your counter before beginning to make these delicious meatball buns;
For a serving of 2 dozen meatball buns;

i)Frozen bread dough dinner rolls12 pieces
ii)Fully cooked and thawed Italian meatballs of your choice12 ounces/ 1 packet
iii)Olive oil2 tablespoons
iv)Grated parmesan cheese1/4th cup
v)Minced fresh basil1/4th cup
vi)Warmed marinara sauce1.5 (1-1/2) cup

DIRECTIONS

Step 1.
First take out the frozen dough and let it stand at room temperature for about 25-30 minutes until they are soft. Make sure you let them stay until they become easy to work with and knead

Step 2.
Get the meatballs ready.

Step 3.
Cut each roll in half. Take a meatball and wrap the roll around such that the meatball is completely enclosed. Secure the roll by pinching the dough firmly.

Step 4.
Prepare your baking pan. You can either simply grease the pan or place greased baking sheets over them. Gently place your buns on the sheet/pan with its seam facing downwards.
Cover this with a kitchen towel and let it rise in a warm place for at least 1.5 to 2 hours. You need to make sure you let them stay until their size is almost doubled.

Step 5.
While you do so, pre-heat your oven to 350°.

Step 6.
Once the buns have risen enough, bake them in your pre heated oven for about 12-15 minutes until they turn golden brown. Make sure to check once in a while.

Step 7.
Finally bring your buns out of the oven. Brush the buns with olive oil and sprinkle freshly minced basil leaves and some shredded parmesan cheese over it.
Serve this with some warmed marinara sauce and your Italian meatball buns are ready to by devoured!
